I've been creating graphic images for public consumption and designing costumes in the theatre for so long until it's second nature to see my work being worn on a stage, photoraphed or being published in print or online. Still, there's always that little happy feeling I get when I see my work 'live'. That's probably similar to when an artist hears their song on the radio for the first time. It never gets old. Here are a few examples of some highly distributed commercial works (book cover, album covers, ads, cd single /epk promo art, mag article featured shots, logos, etc) that not too many people would suspect I actually photographed and designed for mighty media's consumption.
Artists, actors/actresses, performers, performance artists-or whatever title we choose to give those who command the great stage-are Superheroes/Sheroes. When the house lights go down your attention is held hostage by these other worldly figures who have the power to fly, mesmerize, hypnotize and convince us that life is not as we know it but as they deem it to be. No matter how skeptical we want to be about the ride they have prepared for us we eventually can't help but succumb to the multiple hour long fantastical journey. Lights, Cameras, Action!
Captures of some of my best views from the most amazing ceiling in the world....
Gorgeous architecture and memorable locations from my journeys around the world that have withstood the endurance of time and man while remaining archetypal and foremost in legendary composition and history. From top to bottom-Shanghai Huxinting Tea House (YuYuan Gardens/Shanghai, China), Kyoto Gardens (Japan), Le Louvre (Paris), Statue of Liberty (Ellis Island, NY), Brooklyn Bridge (Brooklyn, NY perspective), Jane's Carousel (Brooklyn, NY), DUMBO (Brooklyn, NY), The Paris Eye (Paris), The Capitol Building (Washington, DC), Notre Dame-850th anniversary (Paris), Champs Elysees (Paris).
It's amazing how many real life moments I've had where I've said, "I wish I had my camera!" Luckily I've had it with me more times than not. Life delivers some really interesting sights that range from the incredibly surreal to the painfully real and sometimes if you blink you miss it. These are a few of those glimpses into that fantastic normal reality.
A chronological, pictorial journey through my life so You can know a little more about Me...
Living in southern California approximately 12 minutes from the beach has given me a greater appreciation for the ocean. The sea has healing properties and they are experienced by merely staring into its depths. No matter where my travels may take me if I am anywhere near a large body of water you can bet I've got a serene photo of la mar.
The art of retrieving images from stone and precious metals has always intrigued me. The lifelike quality imbued upon a rock is mesmerizing. Even attempting to show you what I see is a challenge-one that I gladly will continue to accept. These are sculptures, statues and creations from around the world.
